Will anyone help me translate this into Spanish? Please?
Q. I would really appreciate if anyone could translate this into Spanish. Fernando Botero was born in Medellin, Colombia on April 19th, 1932. Botero s father died of a heart attack when Botero was only two years old. His mother had to raise him and his two brothers by herself. As a youth, Botero attended a school for matadors for several years, but his true interest was in art. He began painting after he became inspired by pre-Columbian and Spanish colonial art (as well as the political work of the Mexican muralist Diego Rivera). At the age of thirteen, he began painting scenes of bullfights, which he sold in front of the arena for five pesos each. When he was only seventeen, he contributed an article to the Medellin newspaper, El Colombiano,… [cont.]

Interesting encounters as a tourist in a foreign country or w/ tourists? Ever have any of these issues arise?
Q. Seeking to help [Britains] sometimes snarky citizens offer a warmer welcome, the tourism bureau has updated its advice for anyone likely to work with travellers arriving from overseas from hotel staff to taxi drivers. New guidelines from Visit Britain ahead of the 2012 London Olympics warn that: - Canadians tend to be offended when they are when mistaken for Americans. - Hold off from hugging an Indian, the guide advises, and don't be alarmed if the French are rude. -Don't go around asking Brazilians personal questions and never be bossy with visitors from the Middle East. "Visit Britain said research it had conducted found tourists believe Britons are honest and efficient but not the most pleasant. Britain is ranked 14th out of 50 in… [cont.]

A. I'm pretty offended actually, for myself and for tourists. Us Londoners are some of the most culturally aware people in the world, and tourists always know that they're going to encounter customs that they're unfamiliar with. That's generally why people travel, y'know, to get to know other ways of doing things. "Don't be alarmed if the French are rude"!!! How condescending! Why the hell would we be alarmed? Aren't people who live in major cities used to rudeness? Aren't we rude ourselves? Polish people find humour in their drinking, and hugging Indians? Who goes around hugging people they've just met at a tourist attraction? The guide sounds like it's been written by someone who lives under a rock. It's not relevant to Londoners… [cont.]

I'm a Latina artist looking for volunteer opportunities in New Zealand or Mexico. Suggestions?
Q. Essentially, I'd like to volunteer without having to pay my own money for the opportunity, which never makes sense to me. If you've viewed volunteer websites or volunteered yourself, you know what I'm referring to. Plus, I'm near dirt poor. I'd prefer to work with kids (from any financial/racial background) within the art field. I only speak English but might be able to swing a little Spanish. I have a BA in Media Arts and an excellent background in the fine art / administrative fields. I'd hate to go to any country where the weather's terrible as I've already spent more than 2 decades living in a crappy climate and am prone to getting sick during extreme weather. In other words, I'm looking for a change. I state this not because I'm… [cont.]

Artisit named Christine from Santa,FE New Mexico?
Q. I have a print named "White swords from the sky" that was purchased from an artist named Chrisiten who had her gallery in Santa, FE New Mexico. It was purchased in 1997 but I am not able to find any information on the artist or the print. The painting has you inside a cave looking out into the nights sky during a thunderstorm. There are teepee's in the background that have fires lit in them and if you slowly turn down a halogen light you get a 3D feel and the fires and lighting in the sky stand out and you feel drawn deeper into the cave. So anyone else out there seen her art work?

What do you think of Kat Von D?
Q. LA Times was able to score an interview with Kat Von D., this past week at High Voltage Tattoo Shop (Kat Von D s Tattoo Shop). The LA Times freelance writer had to get the scoop on Kat s new line of lipstick for Sephora and her ideas on fashion. Here is what she had to say! Is it fair to say your style is steeped in rock music? Yeah, for sure. Music has influenced everything from my tattooing to how I talk to how I walk, I guess. I was classically trained in piano since I was 6. Then in my teens, my older sister introduced me to Metallica. It was all over. I had a mohawk soon after that. I like everything in the extreme. I have bills to pay as we all do and thats the only reason i havent quit.I am very good at what i do..and excel at any job i take so i am confident if i were to get another job i would do very well. but fear of missing bill payments and ruining my credit keep me from leaving. A. Wow, Eric, sorry to hear that you're not getting out of your job what you would hope to get but, honestly, we tend to be most unhappy with our jobs when our social life isn't what we want it to be. Are you in love? Does the object of your affections love you? If the answer to either question is "no" then don't rush to switch jobs because the unhappiness over your job is just a reflection of problems elsewhere. If you are in love and a relationship, can you count on her to help you pay bills if you need help? Like they say, a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Don't leave this job until you find one that's better but, remember, a better paying job does NOT mean you'll enjoy it more. Sometimes certain jobs pay well because… [cont.]

A. I know that this is not the way the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would of handled it. I too was upset about this, but I think this is the wrong way to approach the issue. Killing won't solve it. Two wrongs don't make a right. That is not the way the Quran tells us to act. The Quran tells us to act with patience and understanding. I don't agree with the way of the terrorists. Because that is not the way of Islam. Its a shame how people can claim to know so much about Islam, yet represent it in such a wrong way. The Noble Qur'an - Hud 11:85 "And O my people! In other states, it can be hard to get a qualified estimate. Don't go by e Bay prices...Native American jewelry is an absolute bust online. When I lived in California, it was difficult to get a figure...you need a Southwest silversmith or museum to appraise it.
